IDent was inspired by the need for the rapid development of signal detection models allowing for short turn around times in counter measure deployment providing an adaptive approach to both dynamic signal structures and ambient conditions. This provides a non expert the capability to react, in real time, to acosutic target(s) of interest.

Acoustic signal detection in the wild is an increasingly complex and challenging problem to solve. IDent allows users to build their own database of bots on local systems tasked to continuously listen out for their signals of interest. This bot approach allows IDent to detect and classify more complex target signatures by analysing which bots are reacting to the active acoustic signal
